With changing weather conditions and increased use of heaters and air conditioning systems, residents are encouraged to take a few simple steps to help keep their homes safe.

Safety reminders:

• Change HVAC filters regularly to ensure proper airflow

• Test smoke detectors and replace batteries as needed

• Check fire extinguishers to make sure they are accessible and in working condition

Residents should also be aware that the local fire department conducts routine fire extinguisher inspections as part of normal operations.
